The primary goals of EuroMarine are to support the identification and initial development of important emerging scientific topics or issues and associated methodologies in marine sciences, as well as to foster new services relevant to the marine scientific community.
ocean carbon & biogeochemistry
The Ocean Carbon and Biogeochemistry (OCB) program was established in 2006 as one of the major activities of the U.S. Carbon Cycle Science Program, an interagency body that coordinates and facilitates activities relevant to carbon cycle science, climate, and global change issues. OCB’s overarching goal is to explore the ocean’s role in the global carbon cycle and the response of marine ecosystems to environmental changes of the past, present, and future.
The Simons Foundation’s mission is to advance the frontiers of research in mathematics and the basic sciences. Co-founded in New York City by Jim and Marilyn Simons, the foundation exists to support basic - or discovery-driven - scientific research undertaken in the pursuit of understanding the phenomena of our world.
GORDON AND BETTY MOORE FOUNDATION
The Moore Foundation seeks to advance basic science through developing new technologies and supporting imaginative research scientists at the frontiers of traditional scientific disciplines. Reflecting the beliefs of founders, Gordon and Betty Moore, the Science Programme advances knowledge in emerging fields by taking risks and fostering path-breaking science.
